Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini is ready to move to Chelsea, it has been revealed.
The Sunday Mirror says Mancini claims he is in pole position to become the next Chelsea boss.
A Chelsea victory may help Avram Grant hang on but Mancini has confided in close friends that he expects to land the Chelsea job - if owner Roman Abramovich decides to change his backroom staff and move Grant upstairs to become director of football.
A Chelsea insider said: "Mancini has made contact and is interested in the job."
Mancini speaks fluent English and had talks last year with Chelsea about succeeding Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese boss looked certain to move on.
