Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini has likened new signing Cristian Chivu to Sinisa Mihajlovic.

He said: "He really reminds me of Mihajlovic. Cristian can also be a full-back, whereas Sinisa only played that role at the start of his career, but both can spark moves from the back with a precise left foot.

"Chivu is a central defender who can also play as a left-back and, when needed, even in midfield. He can easily take on three different roles and that is a very important element for us.

"His arrival was a great opportunity for the team and the club. I am glad we didn't let him get away, because he is strong, young and is also a good free kick specialist."
