Inter Milan coach Conte happy to grind out Cagliari win: New experience for my players

Inter Milan coach Antonio Conte was delighted to grind out a 1-0 win against Cagliari on Sunday.

The match was decided by Matteo Darmian's winner.

There are fewer games now, and every win is worth six points," Conte told DAZN.

“Milan beat Parma yesterday and it was essential to win this game to leave the gap between them and us unaltered.

“Many of my players have never experienced such pressure and I am really satisfied with what they are doing. We have improved so much over the last two seasons.

“I like winning too much and that's what I want to transmit to my players," he continued.

“I don't want to stop and count how many games are remaining [to win the title]. The job is not done yet. We won three crucial games in eight days, but we have eight more matches ahead.

“We are proving to be a stable and balanced team. We collected 81 points last term and played a Europa League Final.

Juventus dominated the last decade, and in just one year and a half, we've been able to change the values. What my players are doing would deserve more consideration, but I keep reading about our performances in Europe."
