Inter Milan captain Javier Zanetti paid tribute to president Massimo Moratti after victory over Livorno.
It was also probably Moratti's final home game as majority shareholder before Erick Thohir takes over.
"Our bond goes beyond that of President and captain. The President deserves this applause and more for all he's done for Inter," said Zanetti.
"We need to get back into the race for something important. The table will tell us where we end up, but with this spirit we can go far."
