Inter Milan alerted as Mascherano faces being squeezed out at Barcelona

Inter Milan are ready to pounce for Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano.

RAI Sport says Inter are aware Mascherano is unsettled at Barca following the arrival of Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal this week.

Mascherano was frustrated last season with the lack of chances he had in midfield and knows competition will be even tougher this term with Cesc and the emergence of Thiago Alcantara.

Inter are monitoring his situation closely and will bid for the former Liverpool midfielder once Samuel Eto'o's €35 million move to Anzhi is rubberstamped.

This is specifically not a rumour, this is an aspirational target list for acquisitions by CFC over the next two or three years which would place Chelsea at the top of European football for the better part of next decade. It is informed by Chelsea related transfer talk but not exclusively beholden to such talk (I think most people would fairly acknowledge that recent events such as those that occurred during the Winter window, both demonstrate a willingness upon the part of Roman to continue to invest in the club and that transfer talk is not necessarily even a vague indication of the transfer actions that may ensue at a particular club). It is intended to spark a discussion of the potential future of the squad.

Chelsea Transfer Manifesto 2011-2013
-
DEF:
-
Defensively we have a few concerning issues, a lack of options on the right, injuries to key centre backs and more talent than we can field in one team on the left.
-
On the right we have Bosingwa and possibly the oft muted signing Darijo Srna, (which it should be pointed out is perhaps more off than on at present) who will both be 29 by mid season next year will be useful, but again succession for maturing players must be considered. There is also considerable talk about the future of Bosingwa at the club, and given his recent form, probably not unjustifiably so.
-
Continually mentioned in the transfer pages, Gregory van Wiel could be the alternative for the future. Despite concerns about his ability under pressure van der Weil should be the main defensive target in the next transfer period. Benfica's Maxi Pereira has potential, though his availability is in question. Micah Richards is apparently unhappy at Man City but this is pure conjecture at this point
-
On the left, we already have Cole and van Anholt, an embarrassment of riches already but given that Ashley is now 30 it is time to consider the succession. Juan Manuel Vargas and Nacho Monreal need to be considered as does Porto’s Uruguayan wingback Alvaro Pereira.
-
MID:
-
Age, injuires and a lack of squad depth are all issues for our midfield despite the fact we have one of the finest in world football.
-
We need to stiffen up our defensive midfield our current combination of Mikel, Essien, Romeu and Ramires works alright, but having Essien and Ramires capable of getting further forward is an asset (my Nigerian friends would at this point note that Mikel plays much further forward for them too). Moussa Sissoko, Gueida Fofana, Yann M’Vila, Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe, Fernando and Kwadwo Asamoah are all youthful, strong exceedingly capable defensive mids, ideally I'd sign two and loan one out for a while. We also need either Josip Ilicic or Armin Bacinovic.
-
Modric has never been my answer to the problem of Lampard's age, they're different kinds of players, A like for like replacement for Lampard would be a big hard running attacking midfielder, but I can't think of anyone out there who possesses the exact qualities that Frank has (and is available...perhaps Mario Balotelli?). It now looks likely that Javier Pastore, will be the man given the duties, possibly supported by Joao Moutinho (and possibly in the future Steven Defour or Alan Dzagoev or Paulo Henrique Ganso), definitely supported by Yossi Benayoun and Ramires.
-
As for wingers there has been more speculation that Chelsea may, regardless of his buyout clause, try and sign Hulk (excellent, but I'm not sure if it's anything more than hopeful speculation), while talk about the Shaktar Brazilian, Douglas Costa, Alex Teixeira and Willian has recommenced (there's also been some promising talk about Jano Ananidze). Gael Kakuta and Daniel Sturridge cannot be forgotten either (though that still leaves issues on the right wing). Jonathan Biabiany would be an excellent addition, I cannot understand why he isn't being considered.
-
FWD:
-
Now for the speculators, firstly Romelu and Jordan Lukaku. Romelu is, as I see it, a must signing but he need not necessarily join the team straight away, a loan back to Anderlecht, or preferably a small team where he would play in Europe (and England, Stoke I’m looking at you!) would be ideal, as we first need to integrate Neymar with the rest of the team and the English game. Jordan is apparently progressing very nicely too, but I view him as less essential at this point.
-
The players for whom Anelka may make way are the stars Chelsea are considering, Pato, Sergio Agueroand Edinson Cavani. These guys are the options for Torres medium term partner, I’m a big fan of all three, though at present I’d have to give the job to Cavani, he’s just playing the best at present.
-
Then there are the threats to Kalou’s spot, Gervinho, Seydou Doumbia (and apparently Taison from some reports I’ve heard recently) are potential support strikers, and a threat to Kalou’s future at the club. Gervinho has been good, but not great for Lille, but brings the bonus of being quite an accomplished winger as well as a striker. Doumbia is basically Drogba a decade ago, he’s still learning the game, but will develop into a great striker. Taison is very quick, and is scoring at a better rate for Metalist Kharkiv than he did forInternacional. A final entrant in this category is Lacina Traore with his great height would make an ideal super sub in the mold of Tore Andre Flo, tall and dangerous near goal.
-
Then there is the Mourinho and Villa Boas factors to consider, Samuel Eto’o, Emmanuel Adebayor, Hulk and Falcao are not really on the radar at the moment for Chelsea (well Eto’o and Hulk to a certain degree), a change of manager however may shift this perception and potentially the transfer targets.
-
Finally the outliers, the players for whom a move to Chelsea is unlikely to say the least, but who would each bring a certain added value to the club. Firstly there is Park Chu Young, a skillful Korean striker who would broaden Chelsea’s Asian merchandising horizons, ditto to Japan’s Takayuki Morimoto. Finally Jonathan Biabiany, the fastest man in French football is a great young striker, Inter made a mistake swapping him for Giampaolo Pazzini (not that Pazzini is a bad player, but Biabiany could have developed into a truly great one), we should consider benefiting from Inter’s folly.

good job with the false news tribal football. Mascherano and Cesc do not play in the same position. Mascherano is now permanently a new cender back to cover for Puyol. Barca will not sell Mascherano he is great.
