Celtic keeper Artur Boruc has undergone surgery on his injured knee and faces three weeks on the sidelines. The operation depended on Dominic Cervi getting the green light to be registered for the Europa League.
UEFA have since given Celtic the go-ahead, clearing the way for Boruc to undergo the minor surgery.
"We would not have agreed to Artur having the operation if the clearance for Dominic had not been granted," Hoops boss Tony Mowbray told the Glasgow Evening Times.
"Now the hope is Artur will be back in time for the league game against Dundee United in three weeks."
