Vissel Kobe star Andres Iniesta can't see Lionel Messi returning to Barcelona.

Off contract at PSG in June, Messi is being linked with a return to Barca next summer.

However, former Barca teammate Iniesta told AS: "I find it difficult for Messi to return to Barça, but I'm not Leo or (president Joan) Laporta and I can't predict what may happen in the future; more than liking me, he has to like it and see if he could take the chance.

"Since Xavi came in, the evolution has been very positive and the current squad is super complete in all lines, but there are things that happen and the Champions League is decided by details. He could have won a match against Bayern and Inter, but it didn't happen.

"I don't know why this has happened in recent years, but it is clear that some things are not being done well or not enough to change that dynamic. I have also suffered hard setbacks, the last one in Rome. Those details of which I speak and that decide playoffs and matches we have not known how to handle them. The feeling is that the necessary step is missing to cross the border in which we are staying lately."
