AC Milan forward Mario Mandzukic has given up his March wages after failing to take the pitch due to injury.
ANSA reports the Croatian striker has decided to give up his salary for last month after not contributing to on-field matters.
“An exceptional gesture," Milan President Paolo Scaroni said, according to the news agency.
“It demonstrates Mario Mandzukic's ethics and professionalism and his respect for Milan.
“The club will thus have the opportunity to further support the Milan Foundation for projects in favour of young people in conditions of economic and educational fragility, where sports is a tool for social inclusion."
