Blackburn Rovers boss Paul Ince is ready to make his first signing today in Chilean midfielder Carlos Villaneuva.

He will join on loan initially with a view to a full-time deal with Rovers willing to pay £450,000 for the player - nicknamed Pineapple Head - for a year, according to reports in the Mirror.

However, if he impresses the new Ewood Park chief, Ince has exclusive buying rights and would secure Villaneuva for good for around £4m in the January transfer window.
