Details of the bust-up between Newcastle teammates Jamaal Lascelles and Momo Diame have emerged.
The Sun says on Friday, it was reported in the press that Jonjo Shelvey fractured his hand as he attempted to break up the dispute.
The former Liverpool midfielder jumped in when Lascelles and Diame started trading punches at the club's Darsley Park centre.
Lascelles repeatedly called Diame “lazy" as the club attempted to keep players motivated during the two-week international window.
Diame responded with an insult and the pair then started to confront each other.
The incident comes shortly before it was announced Lascelles had signed a new six-year contract.
