Hysaj agent: He paid at Napoli for 18 months under Ancelotti

The agent of Elseid Hysaj has opened the door to the fullback staying with Napoli.

The Albania international was expected to leave this summer.

"I've never had any problems with [president Aurelio] De Laurentiis," Mario Giuffredi told Radio Punto Nuovo.

“There were some misunderstandings over Mario Rui, Di Lorenzo and Hysaj, but they certainly weren't enough to change my opinion of him.

“When Hysaj moved to Napoli, he was earning €500,000, but it wasn't a contract I negotiated.

“During [his first] season, I became his agent and the president acted like a fine gentleman, giving him a new contract and appreciating his worth.

“We mustn't forget that Hysaj was one of the best full-backs in Italy under Sarri, apart from the stint under Ancelotti.

“Now with [Rino] Gattuso, we're seeing the same Hysaj from the time with [Maurizio] Sarri, when we received an offer from Bayern Munich.

“He's paying the price for his year-and-a-half under [Carlo] Ancelotti."

He added: “Gattuso and De Laurentiis want to keep him. We've talked about a renewal, but it's not an issue of money: it's up to him whether he stays or not."
