Hutton annoyed with Tottenham treatment of Dele Alli

Former Tottenham star Alan Hutton is not happy with how the club is treating Dele Alli.

The English attacking midfielder has fallen down the pecking order under Jose Mourinho.

He rarely starts in the Premier League, and is even getting less game time in the Europa League recently.

Alli wants to leave on loan in January, but media reports suggest Spurs will not let that happen.

"I think he still has to play football and if he's not going to get the time at Tottenham, I think a loan would be perfect for him to go out, play games, get back to playing to the level that we all know that he can, and then take it from there," Hutton told Football Insider.

"At the moment it's like Tottenham want to have their their cake and eat it. They want to keep him but they're not using him, but they don't want to let him go because they've got a lot of games coming up and they may need him – it's not fair.

"I'm just thinking from a pure player's point of view – I do understand from Tottenham – but from a young player's point of view, he wants to play games and you're not getting it at your club.

"You're not really anywhere near it, there's so many boys in front of you so let me go and play football, but then they're saying: 'Oh we can't let you go on loan.' It's just unfair, it's the part of football that really annoys me.

"We want to see these young talents playing as much as possible and he's just neither here nor there really at the moment so, as a footballer and him, you want to see him go away somewhere and playing but whether they're going to allow it, I'm not so sure."
