Hull midfielder Jimmy Bullard will undergo a scan on his left knee on Monday evening. The Premier League club have confirmed the procedure will take place at 6pm and the results are expected to be announced on Tuesday.

Bullard, the Premier League's player of the month for November, landed awkwardly after a challenge in Saturday's 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa and limped out of the action.

Club record signing Bullard, 31, left the field at Villa Park with tears in his eyes but the positive news today was that there was no swelling around the joint.

The injury was incurred in just his fifth appearance since returning from an eight-month lay off following surgery on his right knee.
