Hull City midfielder George Boateng expects to be booed by his former Aston Villa fans on Monday.
Boateng wrote in his internet blog: "I expect the usual reception when we start the game: 'Booooo!'
"But for some reason it always motivates me to try harder and play better. I believe the Villa fans have never forgiven me for leaving the club so unexpectedly. I left because I didn't feel the club was going to win something in the near future.
"There were many problems behind closed doors that led to many players not being happy including myself. That affected me on and off the pitch and led to me not feeling appreciated at Aston Villa.
"One thing led to another and there came a moment when I said, 'Enough is enough'.
"The bucket was full of problems and I couldn't find a solution so I had to seek a new challenge."
