Hull City veteran Dean Windass insists he was not involved in Oldham Athletic's scrap.
Windass's name was linked with the much-publicised punch-up which the Latics have now launched a full investigation into.
According to national reports, striker Lee Hughes fought with manager John Sheridan after drinking at Belle Vue greyhounds on a team night out.
Windass says he was at home with his wife, Helen, and is upset to see his name linked with trouble again.
"I'm disappointed that my name has been linked with the incident as I eventually want to go into management and these sort of stories will make chairmen think again about employing me," said Windass.
