Hull City defender Alex Bruce defended his Dad after a touchline bust-up with Sunderland boss Gus Poyet.
The two managers clashed during this week's 1-1 draw.
Bruce Jnr was the defender who challenged Jack Rodwell before the dive which sparked the clash, and he said: "I didn't touch him. If that's what Gus was unhappy about then he was wrong, because I didn't touch him. He was just too quick for me."
Bruce has also attempted to play down the subsequent confrontation between his dad and Poyet.
"It was just handbags," he said. "In games like that there's always going to be a bit of a hoo-ha. It was a big game that everyone wants to win.
"Temperatures were high and I'm sure all the supporters enjoyed it."
