Hull City are releasing Aaron McLean from his contract.

The Mirror says Hull manager Steve Bruce is giving striker McLean a free transfer to help speed up his revamp of the squad for the Tigers' return to the Premier League.

The 30-year-old, who has 12 months left on his contract, was loaned to Ipswich last season when the Tigers were still in the Championship.
