Hull City boss Grant McCann admits he wants to sign Liverpool midfielder Herbie Kane.

Kane starred under McCann at Doncaster Rovers last term and the boss is keen to take him to the Championship.

“Herbie's top class, he really is," he said. “He's a Liverpool player. He will be going out on loan, I know that for sure.

“Would we like him? Yes. Could we get him? I'm not sure. He's a player we definitely like.

“I would hope [working with him last season] would put us in the driving seat a little bit but there's some big clubs in for him.

“We'll have to wait and see."
