Dean Windass is set to return to Hull City in a coaching capacity.

The News of the World says the striker, 39, has reached an agreement with chief John Sheridan to end his loan spell at Oldham early.

Windass hit the play-off goal that fired the Tigers into the top flight for the first time in their history in May.

And boss Phil Brown believes his enthusiasm can give his side a vital boost as they battle for their Premier League survival.
