Hull City boss Phil Brown is confident of landing PSG midfielder Bernard Mendy.

"Bernard's got an international history and he's looking to get back to that level," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"He's 26 and he's got his ambitions to play international football again. That is something he can realise with us, like others have already done."

Brown is aware of the interest in Mendy, but feels being in The Premier League will tip the balance in Hull's favour.

He said: "He's had a substantial offer from Italy and a substantial offer from Germany and we can only do as much as we can to bring him here.

"But I would like to think we've matched or more than matched the other offers out there."
