Hughes sets Stoke top ten target

Mark Hughes has set a top ten target for Stoke City next season.

Hughes was unveiled this morning as new Potters manager after penning a three-year contract.

He said: "If there's disruption in the Premier League, let's see if we can take advantage and be in that top 10.

"That's where I want us to be consistently.

"I believe that's where Stoke City can be for many, many years.

"It will take a lot of hard work, but I feel with the support we will get that we have the basis of a very successful football club.

"I'm here because I believe this is where I should be.

"With the passion in the area, they are a local club close to the community and I understand that greatly. Whenever I've come here as opposition manager I've been aware of the passion of the crowd. I can't wait to get started and put a team on the pitch everyone will be proud of."
