Hughes ready to make Fulham debut

Fulham's summer signing Aaron Hughes hopes to be fit for this weekend's clash with Tottenham.

"I don't want to tempt fate. Obviously it's going well and it would be fantastic to be available for the Spurs game," the former Aston Villa defender told fulhamfc.com. "But I'm not pinning all of my hopes on that, I haven't trained for three or four weeks and that will be a big part of it. I need to get in a good week of training, so it just depends on what I can get done between now and the middle of next week.

"If I'm not back in time for Spurs then I'll probably miss the internationals so that will give me two more weeks to prepare for Wigan. Like I said, I don't want to pin any homes on anything, but that's what I've pencilled in."
