Stoke City boss Mark Hughes insists their Capital One Cup chances remain alive.
Hughes is backing his Potters to overturn Liverpool's 1-0 advantage from the away leg of their Capital One Cup semi-final and make it to next month's final at Wembley.
“There are a lot of things we can do to change history and we'd love to create a stat where we're looking at a win that takes us to a final," said the Potters' boss, who will be without captain and centre-half Ryan Shawcross for up to a month with his back injury.
“You could suggest the pressure is on them. They're leading and the assumption or expectation from a lot of people – not necessarily people from these parts – is that Liverpool will go through and maybe have the dream Merseyside final [Everton lead Manchester City 2-1 after the first leg of the other semi].
“We'll have a little bit to say about that."
