Blackburn Rovers boss Mark Hughes admits they need to qualify for Europe to boost his summer market plans.

After defeat to West Ham, Hughes said: "Getting into Europe every year is a major factor in helping us to recruit better players.

"We lacked drive today and were short on energy. We need to achieve things and be in Europe every year to help the club to develop."
