Hermann Hreidarsson is still in negotiations with Portsmouth and wants to see more new faces at the club next term. The defender battled back from a career-threatening Achilles injury to make 29 appearances for Pompey this season, but will be out of contract in the summer.
"I want to stay and I hope everyone wants to move forward from here," the Icelander told The News.
"We all want the squad to be strengthened a little bit.
"We have to have a go from the start - not into the season - but from the first game."
