Howson hails resilient Norwich after victory at Stoke

Goalscorer Jonny Howson was full of praise for his Norwich City teammates after they beat Stoke City 1-0 at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday.

The Canaries were served by Howson's 34th minute goal to record their second win of the campaign and the former Leeds United midfielder felt it was a solid performance on the road to get the job done.

"We dug in well at the end and limited their chances," Howson told Sky Sports.

"We set the tempo with the way we started the game. That set us up. In the second half we had to dig in at times."

He added: "We'd had a few chances before then and hit the bar.

"That always helps when you are on top. It gives you that confidence to throw a few more people forward. We could have had more on a different day."
