Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe has warned his players he wants their rows kept indoors.
Harry Arter and goalkeeper Artur Boruc exchanged words during the second half of Cherries' 2-2 draw with Premier League rivals Stoke on Saturday.
Howe told the Daily Echo: “I like to see that passion, drive and motivation to win. I think if you don't have that conflict, you have nothing.
“Having leaders in your team who are prepared to fight their corner is very powerful. “Ideally, I wouldn't want it in public view where everyone else sees it and would much rather it took place behind closed doors.
“But, sometimes, it is that important and it is during the game.
“I have had plenty of discussions with team-mates when we felt something needed to be said.
“I think it shows that we are still very motivated to be successful."
