Howe: Bournemouth beating 9-men Spurs tough

Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe was delighted with their 1-0 defeat of Tottenham.

Red cards to Son Heung-Min and Juan Foyth saw Mauricio Pochettino's side play the majority of the second period with just nine men.

Nathan Ake scored a late winner from Ryan Fraser's corner to give AFC Bournemouth their first ever league win over Tottenham.

Howe said, "I've only managed one game against nine men before in my management career, against Brighton when I was at Burnley. That was tough and today was too. It totally changed the game.

"We naturally weren't having a lot of the ball against such a good Tottenham team in the first half. They were creating chances and we were looking dangerous on the counter-attack.

"Suddenly, we were dominating the ball and Tottenham were playing on the counter-attack. I don't think we did particularly well with the advantage we had. We didn't use the ball intelligently enough.

"It was difficult and looked like we were running out of time to win the game, but thankfully we popped up with a great goal."
