Houston Dynamo striker Brian Ching is back in training after a hamstring injury and looking to push for World Cup selection for the USA.
The 31-year old has been out of action for just over a month but plans to be back in the Dynamo squad that takes on Chivas USA on Saturday.
"It felt good out there," said Ching. "It's going to be a progression thing, so a little bit today, a little bit more tomorrow. We'll see Wednesday. I doubt it, but a little bit more and more every day and building towards the weekend."
Ching also suffered a slight calf tweak as he got back into training late last month and said if it wasn't for that he would already be back in action.
"I thought it would take probably about five weeks (to recover from the hamstring)," he said. "I think this week will be five weeks. Would I have like to have been faster? Yes. Was I hoping it'd be faster? Yes. At about five weeks, I think it's good. It's not so much the hamstring. It's more about the calf at this point. If it was the hamstring I think I'd be playing right now."
