Houllier: Villa can reach top four in next three years

Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier says he has a target of reaching the top four in three years' time.

Houllier, 63, has warned that taking a side into the Champions League will be more difficult than when he did it four times at Liverpool because Villa do not have the same prestige as the Merseyside club.

He said: "We have given ourselves three years to get the team into the top four, even if it's a harder challenge today than when I left Liverpool in 2004, In terms of image and standing in the game, Villa is not Liverpool.

"I like to set myself a new objective - to work in a team, get a squad going and to tell ourselves: 'What means are at our disposal? How are we going to get there?'

"I like to see a squad of players evolving as well as getting the maximum out of them. And of course, the team must entertain its supporters."
