Former Liverpool boss Gerard Houllier says being a Cup team won't be good enough for Reds fans. Houllier believes ending a two-decade drought without a title has become the 'obsession' for the Kop.

He said: "The obsession is the league. Rafa finished second and I finished second once.

"But for all the cups we won, they wanted us to win the league. There is too much expectation at Liverpool. They expect to win the Champions League every year. That won't happen.

"In football you can go from the attic to the basement very quickly so one day he is the hero, the next he is zero. You have to be careful."
