Holloway won't be 'parking the Blackpool bus' at Liverpool

Ian Holloway has warned next weekend's opponents Liverpool his Blackpool side will be going after them next Sunday. The newly-promoted Tangerines continued to make a positive impression in the Barclays Premier League as they were narrowly beaten 2-1 by Blackburn in a compelling Lancashire derby yesterday.

Brett Emerton settled the first league meeting between the two sides in 30 years with a goal four minutes into injury time at Bloomfield Road.

By playing three men up front, Blackpool had shown attacking intentions from the outset.

Holloway felt the Seasiders played too defensively in their 4-0 thrashing by Chelsea in their previous outing and that was not a mistake he wanted to repeat.

Holloway said: "Last week we got what we deserved - zilch - but this week I felt we deserved at least a point.

"But you won't get me disappointed - because of the way my team play.

"Results won't affect me this year - if I start getting affected by results I might as well pack it in.

"But performances affect me. The first-half performance last week was wimpy.

"That was my fault because I went defensive and I won't do that again.

"You wait until Liverpool away - that is all I am going to say."
