England lost out on Arsenal defender Ben White due to comments made by their assistant coach Steve Holland.

The Three Lions coach had a verbal altercation with White during the 2022 World Cup preparations.

White ended up leaving the team's training camp that winter and has not played for England since.

Per the Telegraph, the “barbed comment" from Holland regarding White's lack of interest in football did not go down well.

Many of his teammates came up to defend White in private and even in public afterward.

Arsenal sporting director Edu informed England coach Gareth Southgate that White would not play for England at present.
