Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has branded Southampton mentally weak after their draw with Brighton on Monday.
Hojbjerg was left raging after his side let south coast neighbours Brighton come back from 2-0 down to snatch a 2-2 draw at St Mary's on Monday.
He said: “It is a mental problem. It is a weakness. We need to look at it and we need to be better.
“It does not matter who you play. If you are 2-0 up at home with 25 minutes to go you are very disappointed to let that slip away. It is even more disappointing because there were a lot of good things in the game and then suddenly you go off the pitch at 2-2 against a Brighton team who did not show up for the first 45 minutes.
“If we want to be serious and be up where we think we should be in the table, we cannot let games and points slip away like this.
“It's a big hit.
“Maybe there is some nervousness from last year that we get on the back foot at one or two nil up and are afraid of losing."
