Hodgson satisfied with the way West Brom squad shaping

West Bromwich Albion boss head coach Roy Hodgson feels the Baggies squad for the coming campaign is almost complete. Striker Shane Long is the latest addition from Reading for an undisclosed fee believed to be an initial £4.5million.

The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international is Hodgson's sixth signing of the summer.

Hodgson said: "Many other clubs have shown an interest in Shane and it is great that we have managed to acquire his services.

"With the signing of Shane, our squad is looking close to being complete."

Hodgson is hoping Long will fulfil his potential while with the Baggies.

He said: "Shane is one of the most talented young strikers outside of the Premier League.

"He is a goalscorer and a hard-working player who has a very good attitude to the game.

"The great thing about him is that even though he is still only 24, he has six years' worth of experience of Premier League, Championship and international football and has margin for improvement in his game.

"We now hope to see him fulfil that potential over the next few years at West Bromwich Albion."
