Hodgson looking to shed useless Crystal Palace players

Crystal Palace are looking to offload some dead weight this month.

The Eagles, like the majority of teams in the Premier League, are trying to stave off relegation and have look towards this month's transfer window as a means to solidify their status.

However, Palace boss Roy Hodgson says he has players in his squad that will not help this season and are better off finding other clubs.

"I do believe we have some quality players at the club," said Hodgson.

"I also still believe my original assessment that we need to balance our squad a little bit better, we need more competition in certain places.

"We need strengthening in certain places and we need to, if we can, reduce the number of players in the squad because a lot of them in my opinion aren't going to be helping me over the next few months to help me win the games I need to win."
