England legend Glenn Hoddle says John Stones has fast become a key player for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
Hoddle believes Stones' passing ability makes him a perfect fit for Guardiola's system.
“The main man [in City's back four] is John Stones – that's why Guardiola went out and got £50 million worth of a defender because it suits the way he plays," he told the Manchester Evening News.
“Stones has got the ability to take out four or five players with just one pass.
“He can play with his head up. When he's running at pace, he can see the picture and he waits to draw a midfielder out and release a City player to go on the attack again.
“That's why they paid £50 million for him."
