Tom Hicks is reportedly ready to launch a bid to seize control of Liverpool Football Club.

The American billionaire is desperately trying to take control of the Merseyside club from co-owner and business partner George Gillett who is battling financial problems.

Hicks wants to force through a refinancing package so he can raise enough capital to purchase Gillett's share of the club as he fears he would not get enough if he were to sell now.

Liverpool fans are hoping to force out the US duo but if they cannot achieve that, will most likely stage mass protests, walk outs and a potential boycott.
