Having secured the necessary funding needed to buyout Liverpool co-owner George Gillett, Tom Hicks is ready to press on with his long-term plans for the club.
The Sun says Hicks, who is backed by associates in the States, will put Gillett's resolve to the test by matching any offer Dubai International Capital make - around £150m.
That would leave Hicks in sole control and allow him to press on with his claims he will give Rafa Benitez a £30m transfer jackpot for the summer.
He will also offer Benitez a new deal, before pressing on with plans for a new 72,000- seat stadium.
