Hibernian striker Fletcher set to snub Old Firm

Steven Fletcher would reject interest from Celtic and Rangers if the opportunity to play in the English Premier League arose. "The Premiership is a fantastic league and I would like to see if I could make it there," he said to the Sunday Mail.

"But I need to improve my football first. I've not really thought about what kind of club I'd want to move to, I just want to play at the highest level.

"If it means taking this club forward, that would be nice because they gave me a great opportunity when I came at 14."

Fletcher continued, "But it would be nice going away against different teams in England. It's probably a different atmosphere down there as well. We'll just need to wait and see.

"It's up to the club whether they think it's time for me to move on or if I've still got another year to play here. I still have four years on my contract and I don't anticipate anything happening in January, nobody has told me anything.

"If someone said the club had accepted something then I'd have to have a think."
