Hertha Berlin's Brooks suffers arm injuries ahead of USA WC qualifiers

Hertha Berlin defender John Anthony Brooks is set to spend some time on the sidelines after injuring his arm on the weekend.

The 20-year old collided with Freiburg's Gelson Fernandes during the 1-1 Bundesliga draw on Saturday and has since been diagnosed with a minor fracture of the radius and torn muscles in his forearm.

The injury will keep Brooks out of action for at least a couple of weeks which means he may miss next month's World Cup qualifiers with the USA team (against Jamaica and Panama).

"He will have to pause for about two to three weeks," Hertha physician Ulrich Schleicher told the club's official website.

Brooks, who debuted for Die Alte Dame in August 2012, has made six Bundesliga appearances this season, scoring in the 6-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt last month.
