Henderson tells Forest teammates: This is pathetic

Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson said that Nottingham Forest conceding seven goals from outside the box this season is "pathetic".

Only Leicester (24) have conceded more goals in the Premier League than Forest (22) this term.

"It's probably avoidable," Henderson told Sky Sports. "Whether it's giving the ball away on the edge of the box, people turning their backs, the fundamentals of defending. Maybe I could have saved a couple of them, who knows

"Of course we're working on it and of course I take it personally, but I take it as my responsibility. I look at myself in the mirror every day and I'm like, how can I go from conceding next to none [goals outside of the box] in the last Premier League season I had, to seven in seven games.

"It's pathetic, so for sure I take it personally and I always look at myself first and think about what I can do better to help the team. That's something we've been working on every day and hopefully we can stop that from happening soon.

"You ask any goalkeeper and they think they can save any goal that goes in. That's just the way that goalkeepers think, no matter what happens. It could deflect off your defender and you can think, why didn't I read that earlier?

"This is football, you always strive to be better, we're learning all the time as a team and individually."
