Just when you thought Sunderland's season could not get any worse from an injury point of view, news emerges that midfield duo Jordan Henderson and Lee Cattermole are in doubt for this weekend's game.
The pair received knocks in the 3-0 home loss to Fulham on Saturday and manager Steve Bruce admits they may not be certainties for the trip to Bolton this weekend.
"We will see how bad they are," he told the club's official website.
"We're doing everything we possible can. I've managed more than 500 games and I've never seen anything like this."
Sunderland are without any recognized strikers and have a host of other players sidelined in what has been a disastrous campaign in the Stadium of Light's treatment room.
