Martin Odegaard is being urged to cut all ties with Real Madrid.

The Norway international is on an 18 month loan at Heerenveen and made a winning debut for his new club last week.

Former Ajax star Andre Bergdölmo, now coach of Strømsgodset, told Voetbal International: "Odegaard should opt for Ajax, not Real Madrid.

"His decision was the best for his development, but I advised Ajax. Martin has made a choice of earning a lot of money. He has had a good education and the opportunity to play in Spain.

"But if you're honest, you know he'll never play there."
