Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed his reasons for dropping Eden Hazard from Wednesday night's Champions League clash with Schalke.
The Belgian missed an important training session during the week and was subsequently omitted from the Blues matchday squad for their 3-0 triumph at Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho replaced Hazard with Willian, who provided an assist for Samuel Eto'o and performed superbly, and after the match the Portuguese explained the reasons for the omission of the former Lille star.
"Willian played fantastic," said Mourinho.
"I don't want to lie. He's not injured. He forgot the time.
"Let's end the story. He's a kid, kids make mistakes and fathers they have to be clever in the way they educate their sons.
"He didn't play, he wanted to play. He's sad because he wanted to play.
"We won without him and Saturday he's back. End of story."
