Hart: England's future lies at Man City

Joe Hart believes England's future can be based around the young players at Manchester City.

City have produced a string of talented young Englishmen, with defender Micah Richards, midfielder Michael Johnson and striker Daniel Sturridge all impressing in Sven Goran Eriksson's new-look side this season.

And now 20-year-old Hart claims it may not be long before the team from the blue half of Manchester provides the spine for the three Lions.

Hart said: "I think every Man City fan would love to see that and I'd love to see it as well.

"Obviously Micah's got himself into the first team and is proving he can do well at any level - he's a phenomenal player.

"And Michael Johnson's got every opportunity of doing the same. I'd love that to be the case but we'll have to wait and see."

Of his own England chances, goalkeeper Hart adds: "It feels brilliant to hear anyone say that but when it's coming from men like Fabio Capello and Sven Goran Eriksson it's fantastic.

"I want to prove what they're saying is right but I think it's a long way off - although I'm on the ladder towards getting there.

"There are loads of fantastic goalkeepers in England who are all fighting for that No1 spot along with me.

"I've made a couple of Under-21 appearances this season and I'd love to play for the full England side.

"At the moment it's brilliant playing for the Under-21s but if I break into the full team I'll be the happiest man around."
