Former Inter Milan captain Samir Handanovic was unimpressed by Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana last season.
The pair eventually struck a friendship last season, but Handanovic admits he was unhappy with Onana's attitude in the first weeks of his arrival from Ajax.
"I wasn't a fan of his behavior in those first two months when he wasn't playing," Handanovic told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I was happy that he said he had had a difficult start at the club. It was only when he left that he told the truth.
"I have to admit that I have always been consistent with him and willing to help him."
The 39-year-old Slovenian lost the competition to Onana and ended up on the bench in his final year.
"But no one said that I had injuries last season. A wrist injury, a broken finger and a calf strain. But I was always on the bench for the team, even when I wasn't fit enough to play. I would never work against the team, because of my feeling for the club and the fans."
