Inter Milan captain Samir Handanovic says they deserve to be out of Europe after their 0-0 draw with Shakhtar Donetsk.
Inter finished as bottom of their group, so miss out on Europa League qualification.
“It was a balanced group, I think we lost it both in Kiev and here. We could've done better, but there's no time to cry over spilt milk, we have to focus on Serie A and the Coppa Italia," Handanovic told Sky Sport Italia.
“Evidently, Inter are not yet ready for the Champions League. The points speak clearly, we won only one game out of six, that's not enough and we didn't deserve to go through.
“We had to score tonight, we didn't, and frankly I expected Shakhtar to want something more than the draw, but they seemed content with third place.
“We know there's a bad taste in the mouth after going out of the Champions League, but we can't cry about that now, we have to focus on the next match this weekend in Serie A."
