Hamburg signing Mancienne to captain England at U21 Euros

New Hamburg signing Michael Mancienne will lead England at the U21 Euros.

The Sun says Mancienne is set to be named England's Under-21 skipper for the European Championships.

Micah Richards was due to take the armband in Denmark but a hamstring injury has ruled him out.

Mancienne, 23, has just moved from Chelsea to Hamburg after a season on-loan at Wolves.

He was captain for five consecutive games during qualification and boss Stuart Pearce will make his decision ahead of Sunday's friendly with Norway.
