Hamburg have told Juventus to forget any plans of signing winger Eljero Elia.

Juve have made an offer for the winger, thought to be around €7m, but that bid has been rejected.

"We do not want to sell Elia and we have no need to," sporting director Frank Arnesen told the club's website.

"He is a very important player for us, a player who has told us over the last few weeks that he wants to stay here."
